Dissapointment In The District

Hi, Hello, Sadie Thompson here to report about the first trial for Homer Plessy, the man who got arrested for being in a whites only section of a trian. Today, Plessy had his first trial in the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans. The presiding judge, Judge Ferguson, found Plessy guilty. The charges were the Plessy didn't leave the car when asked to. Ferguson denied that The Separate Car Act was unconstitutional because Louisiana could make whatever laws for its railroad that it wanted. As long as equal accommodations were provided everything was okay. I think that this is crazy and very unfair. People cannot be equal if they are separated. As long as you are distinguishing differences between people, there can't be equality.
